Sensei Graham Lewis |

Sensei Lewis has been studing the martial arts since the age of nine. He was given the title of Shinbeikan by Koncho Gozo Shioda in 1994. Sensei Lewis is one of the few americans recognized to teach Yoshinkan Aikido. He is a retired professional kickboxer and the founder of Shinbeikan Aikijujitsu. Sensei Lewis teaches out of his school on Long Island, N.Y. |

| Yoshinkan Aikido was founded by Gozo Shioda.
Grandmaster Shioda was the age of seventeen in 1932 when he witnessed Aikido founder
Morihei Uyeshiba demonstrate. Shioda was invited to test him. Unable to successfully
attack Ueshiba, Shioda joined his school. After World War 2, Shioda opened his own school and started training the Tokyo police in Aikido including the elite Kidotai riot unit. In 1961 Ueshiba awarded Shioda a 9th dan. |
