AIKIDO
is an art formulated in the 1930's by Morihei Uyeshiba. He took elements of
several Japanese arts including wrestling and fencing and combined them with
his own philosophical outlook to create one of Japan's most popular martial
arts.
The underlying principle of this art is non-resistance, using the opponent's own energy to unbalance or throw him and follow-up with a lock or a strike. |

Nobuyoshi Higashi developed Kokushi-ryu jujutsu in 1965 after many years of studying the ancient and modern martial arts of jujutsu, judo, karate, aikido, kendo and others. Beginners and advanced students, as well as instructors, can use the new ideas and techniques of Kokushi-ryu jujutsu to develop their discipline and self defense skills |

While considered by many martial artists to be a sport, Judo is a very effective ground fighting martial art. The techniques are effective in rendering an opponent immobile by holding, choking or inflicting excruciating pain. These techniques are from the Kodokan Judo system. |

Higashi teaches kihon-no-kata the 17 basic techniques of this style:
atemi-waza (striking techniques), Tekubi-waza (wrist control) techniques,
hiji-waza (elbow control techniques), uki-waza (floating or throwing
techniques) and much more.
Prof.

| 1602-0 TOMIKI AIKIDO TAPE 2 | |||
| This
video features Ura-Waza-No-Kata which teaches counter techniques if
your attacker is able to resist your first aikido technique. This is
necessary information as you'll never know until it's too late if your
opponent is more skilled or powerful than you think.
The
second part of the tape shows Shichikon-No-Kuzushi (Off-balance techniques),
movements that will naturally pull an attacker off-center and make
him more susceptible to to your defense techniques.
