Dynamic Aikido |
|
AIKIDO is an art formulated in the 1930's by Morihei Uyeshiba. He took elements of several Japanese arts including wrestling and fencing and combined them with his own philosophical outlook to create one of Japan's most popular martial arts. |
The underlying principle of dynamic aikido is non-resistance, using the opponent's own energy to unbalance or throw him and follow-up with a lock or a strike. |
| 0901-0 Tape 1 DYNAMIC AIKIDO COMBAT | |||
Features
fast, hard takedowns and throws that dispel the myth that aikido is
not a fighting art. Sensei MacEwen teaches basic breakfalls, strikes
and kicks, pain compliance, techniques and throws. Sensei MacEwen continues
the training with gun disarms, a tricky subject under the best of circumstances.
Part of his solution is pure quickness - you'll have to watch closely
to see what happens at full speed.

| 0902-0 Tape 2 COMBAT KNIFE DEFENSE TECHNIQUES | |||
Shows
how today's brawler may be armed. Sensei MacEwen explains the advantages
and pitfalls of going unarmed against a blade, while a high "over
the shoulder" camera angle provides the best possible view of the
action. Sensei MacEwen's defenses are part deadly precision and part
pure speed.

| 0903-0 Tape 3 DYNAMIC AIKIDO COMBAT REVERSALS | |||
This
tape teaches the fine points of unbalancing, joint attacks and sudden
reversals. If your assailant can resist your first technique, Sensei
MacEwen shows the way to victory. The throws are executed with mat-shaking
power and the strikes are hard enough to make evident the crossover
application to karate or kung-fu styles.
|
|||
| 0904-0 Tape 4 DYNAMIC AIKIDO SELF-DEFENSE | |||
While
most martial art self-defense techniques are based from simple punches
and kicks, the reality is that you are more likely to be grabbed from
behind or choked in a surprise situation. Here Sensei MacEwen teaches
the Aikido methods used to counter such attacks. Includes a special
section suitable for women.
